My Spirituality

Sometimes, it's hard to explain what I believe in. I'm hoping that this post will be useful during those times. I plan to send anyone who is curious about my "religion" here. If you are not curious, please do not read any further.

I put quotes around the word "religion" because, honestly, I'm more spiritual than religious. However, it can be considered a religion. Basically, I'm a Solitary Eclectic Non-Denominational Pagan. How's that for a mouth full? For the sake of brevity, I usually just tell people that I'm pagan. In reality, my beliefs are based on personal experiences. I believe in reincarnation. I believe in and, on occasion, perform what is referred to as magic. I'm also a believer in what is known by many names around the world, but can be described pretty efficiently as life energy and am a natural and otherwise self-taught holistic healer. Pagan beliefs just fit nicely with my own personal beliefs.

I practice my beliefs alone because I believe that, for the most part, the practice of spirituality is a very personal thing. There are benefits to practicing certain rituals in a group and there is definitely a benefit of bouncing ideas off of a group. However, I walk my own path when it comes to every day practice.

However, I can tell you that my practices are not based on any one denomination. I borrow from many ideologies. I believe that all religions contain truth and are pieces of a larger puzzle. I believe in what are considered Gods depending on traditions and I believe in what can only be described as the Heart Of The Universe that is connected to everything as a heart is connected to the rest of the body through veins. Some call It God among other labels.

So now you know, and knowing is half the battle. :) If anyone has any further queries, please leave a comment below this post and I will answer them the best I can.

Not quite awake, but I can relate to your beliefs. What would you say is the strongest thing that drives you in your spiritual walk?
Something that simply overrides everything else?

tinacybele: The thing that drives me the most in my spiritual walk is the fear of being too wrapped up in the physical world and forgetting how to react if the order of everyday life is disturbed. While earning a living is important, I don't want to become totally money driven and forget that there is more to life than green pieces of paper. Thankfully, I'm sensitive enough to the spiritual side of things that it's hard for me to look around it.
